Alex Uybenes is a Director at DFZ and a highly experienced Supervisor and QA–QC Welding Inspector, bringing more than 30 years of combined offshore and onshore experience to the organisation. A trade‑qualified Boilermaker/Welder, he holds a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication and Certificate IV in Engineering, supported by advanced international credentials including International Welding Inspector (IWIB), International Welding Practitioner (IWP), and API 653.
Alex has built deep technical capability across fabrication, welding, inspection, and QA/QC, with specialist expertise in exotic and high‑integrity materials such as Stainless Steel, Super Duplex, Titanium, Inconel, Monel, Chromoly, Copper Nickel, Aluminium, and other alloy metals. His background as a Special Class/Coded Welder underpins his ability to oversee complex welding operations with precision and confidence.
As one of DFZ’s core leaders, Alex plays a pivotal role in maintaining the company’s high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence. His extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience ensure that all welding and inspection services meet project specifications, timeframes, and budgets. Kevin Robinson
WHS Manager
Kevin Robinson is DFZ’s WHS Manager and an experienced HSE Project Manager with a Diploma of Work Health and Safety and extensive knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and compliance frameworks. With 25 years of experience across oil and gas, mining, and major civil infrastructure, he brings a strong foundation in safety governance and risk management to DFZ’s operations.
Kevin has developed and overseen comprehensive WHS systems on complex project sites, ensuring all activities meet statutory requirements and industry best practice. His capability includes developing WHS plans, implementing project‑specific procedures, conducting risk assessments, and driving proactive safety initiatives across multidisciplinary teams.
As a key leader within DFZ, Kevin plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well‑governed work environment. RJ Reyes
Project Engineer
RJ is a Project Engineer at DFZ, having joined the team in 2024 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering in 2023. His academic background is complemented by hands-on experience through internships and undergraduate programs, where he has engaged in various design projects, including residential structures, steel frame constructions, and signage installations around Darwin.
RJ’s design expertise is a valuable asset to DFZ, enhancing the company’s technical knowledge and broadening its project capabilities. Design Engineer
